Undusted Texts

Brandon P. Otto
Author and Translator

This website serves as a hub for my work. My blog includes shorter writings and translations (for the latter, see the blog's translation index). Links to my longer essays, articles, and translations can be found on the publications page; most can be downloaded in PDF form from the links provided there, or from my Academia.edu page. To purchase my self-published books of translations, follow the link to the Undusted Texts Translations page on Amazon; more details about each book can be found on the individual product pages or at my blog.

Latest Updates

I am proud to announce my first traditionally-published book, My Burden Is Light: Suffering and Consolation in the Christian Life by St. John of Ávila (1499-1569), published by TAN Books. Street date is February 4.

I recently uploaded a translation of the introduction to Pietro Alighieri's ""Commentary on the Divine Comedy." Pietro was one of Dante's sons; he wrote his commentary in Latin, whereas his brother Jacopo wrote one in Italian.

My most recent long-form self-publication is a selection of writings on St. Joan of Arc by Maurice Barrès (1862-1923), entitled Joan of Arc: Hero of Lorraine, Hero of France, Hero of Christendom.

As for my shorter, Kindle-only translations, I have also recently published another short selection from Barrès, Pascal's Anguish, as well as a work by François-René de Chateaubriand (1768-1848), the Defense of the Genius of Christianity.
